    Type 2 connectors are primarily used for AC charging and support single-phase and three-phase configurations. CCS2 builds on the Type 2 interface by adding two DC power contacts for DC fast charging. The correct choice depends first on whether the charging equipment is designed for AC charging or DC fast charging.

  • How do I choose between a naturally cooled and liquid-cooled CCS2 connector?

    For the configurations presented on this page, the 400A naturally cooled connector does not require a liquid-cooling circuit and has lower cooling-system integration complexity. The 500A liquid-cooled connector is designed for higher-current equipment with active liquid cooling. Selection should consider rated current, charging profile, charger cooling architecture, cable handling, and operating conditions. A compatible liquid-cooling unit can also be configured for the project.
